Danna Smith is an artist, poetry blogger, and award-winning author of over twenty-five traditionally published children’s books. She created Plumbago Press to publish quality passion projects.
When Danna was a child, her favorite toy was a pencil. She wrote stories and poems and doodled wherever she went.
Plumbago is another word for graphite, the soft carbon used in lead pencils. Although today, her favorite toy is a computer keyboard, it seemed fitting when naming her press that she pay tribute to the simple pencil, which gave a little girl a way to express herself and draw on her dreams of becoming an author and artist someday.
